The Survivor Profiler
About the Test

The Survivor Profiler was developed over a twenty-four month period by senior scientists from the TalentMine® research team, including leading experts in the field of psychometrics and personality testing. Drawing from three decades of experience in talent research, TalentMine® analysts and measurement experts studied interviews with more than 100 survivors around the world, including those featured in The Survivors Club. TalentMine® analysts also reviewed the extensive psychological literature on survival, resilience, hardiness and coping.

Their research revealed 5 leading survivor personality “types” and 12 common “tools” or patterns of thought, feeling and behavior that survivors most frequently draw upon to endure and overcome their challenges. These 12 survivor tools were further studied and measured through a series of statements from the TalentMine® database of more than one million participants. The statements retained were tested with hundreds of survivors to ensure that they are highly reliable in measuring each of the 12 Survivor Tools and the 5 Survivor Types.

The final Survivor Profiler™ consists of a series of paired statements that require approximately 14 minutes to complete. For each pair, you will select the option that best describes you. There is no right or wrong answer. During the Profiler, you should expect to see some of the same statements appear more than once. This repetition is intentional and enables the Profiler to generate the most accurate and useful results. Upon completion, you will receive a custom report of your Survivor Personality Type and your top Tools for survival.

To evaluate measurement design, scoring and analyses, the Survivor Profiler questionnaire and data results were independently reviewed by Dr. Dennison Bhola, a highly regarded authority in psychometric analysis and founder of Assessment Learning and Technology Solutions (
